LUXURY HOTELS: SOCIAL SEASON AT THE RITZ, LONDON

THE RITZ LONDON has been entertaining royalty and the aristocracy for generations. So no hotel is better qualified to understand the finer points of the English Summer social calendar. The Ritz has created an elusive selection of luxurious accommodation programmes to help one to enjoy the 2018 social season in style.

It all kicks off with the Chelsea Flower Show in May on the evening they check- in  guests  will be treated to  a private three-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef, John Williams MBE  hosted in one of the private dining rooms in the adjoining 18th century William Kent House. The following day, guests will be transported, by chauffeur, to Chelsea Flower Show for a one-hour private tour with a horticulturist  to help them appreciate all the English roses and flowery displays.  Food-wise you get to enjoy a full day of hospitality within the Jardin Blanc by Raymond Blanc.

In June darling anyone who is anyone heads to Royal Ascot. The Ritz London have collaborated with Royal Ascot for Ladies Day, one of the biggest days on the British social and sporting calendar. Guests can enjoy a two-night stay at The Ritz and indulge in a three-course gastronomic lunch, exclusive access to The Royal Enclosure and hospitality on the Rosebery, the beautifully restored 1966 route master bus at Ascot. The bus accommodates only16 guests and is located in the rarefied Number 1 car park with spectacular viewing gallery of the races. The day will also include a welcome Ritz Rosebery cocktail and afternoon tea. Thing the Ritz doesn’t do is choose your hat for you.

The Lawn Tennis Championships take place at Wimbledon (oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world) and tickets are always hard to come by. Unless of course you stay at the Ritz in which case guests who choose the tennis programme enjoy first class tennis on the Centre or Number One court along with their  a two-night stay. During the day, guests can enjoy a three-course a la carte lunch menu designed by Albert Roux OBE, Michel Roux Jnr and Emily Roux with Sommelier selected wine-pairing, traditional afternoon tea with strawberries and cream and a complimentary bar throughout the day.

The final social event of the year is in September, where you can enjoy an exclusive evening of live entertainment from the BBC Big Band Ball and Elle & the Pocket Belles, with Michelin-starred dining and a dance floor to dance the night away.
