WE ARE big fans of the Limelight Hotel in Telluride so it is good to see that limelight is shining its hotel beam on yet another ski resort with the opening of The Limelight Hotel Snowmass on December 14, 2018. This is the third  hotel from a  boutique brand  known for its style and community involvement, so it is always a welcome addition.

“The excitement is palpable as we near our official opening date,” says Lindsay Cagley, general manager, Limelight Hotel Snowmass. “The unveiling of the newest Limelight has been long-awaited and we are excited to bring a new level of vibrancy to Snowmass Base Village. Our staff and entire community have worked diligently to ensure we have our doors open for guests and locals to enjoy this holiday season.”

 The Limelight Hotel Snowmass broke ground in the spring of 2017. Located in Snowmass Base Village adjacent to the Elk Camp Gondola, the Limelight Hotel Snowmass will provide guests with ski-in/ski-out access as well as proximity to Snowmass’ shops and attractions.

The upscale property will feature 99 spacious guest rooms and 11 residences, a lobby lounge with bar and restaurant, a conference space, private dining room, spa pools, children’s game area and fitness facilities. Rooms are decorated in ice-cool greys and silver

Colorado’s largest indoor rock-realistic climbing wall, towering at 54 feet high will dominate the façade of the new hotel. Both the hotel and residences were designed by New York-based architecture and interior design firm, Stonehill Taylor (known for their work on The Whitby, Moxy Times Square and TWA Hotel and The NoMad Hotel) .

 “We are thrilled to be closing in on the official opening of our third Limelight Hotel. This will be our first ski-in/ski-out Limelight property, and it was designed to provide the utmost convenience and comfort to families coming to Snowmass,” says Alinio Azevedo, chief operating officer of hospitality, Aspen Skiing Company. “We are grateful to our team members, partners and town officials who cooperated with us during the development of this project.  We look forward to welcoming the Snowmass Village community into our hotel and keeping up with the Limelight tradition of becoming the ‘living room of the community.’”

The hotel will debut just one day ahead of the Snowmass Base Village Grand Opening Celebration on December 15, 2018. The Grand Opening celebration will kick off at 3 p.m. at the base of the Snowmass ski area with the first Bud Light Hi-Fi concert of the season featuring Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will follow at 5 p.m. to signify the official opening of the new Snowmass Base Village. The entertainment continues from 5 - 7:30 p.m. around the new ice rink for a community-wide celebration featuring DJ Naka G, live music at the Limelight Lounge, special guest appearances by pro climbers at the new climbing wall, a skating exhibition on the ice rink and fireworks. Food and drink specials will also be available including discounted drinks, free hot chocolate and chili, tacos, mini crepes, s’mores (naturally)  and more.
