Crafted in Ecuador, each Bask + Groove hat is hand-dyed from biodegradable, non-pollutant dyes and created with high quality Toquilla straw, a 100% biodegradable fibre derived from the native toquilla tree. The toquilla hat making tradition can be traced back to the Incas who wove the hats to protect them from the glare of the sun.

With sustainability at the heart, Bask + Groove’s ethos is built around creating forever pieces that are designed to last and be passed down the generations. The company ensures that fair wages for the artisans making the hats, the raw materials are sourced from small Ecuadorian suppliers and packaging has been created with natural untreated recyclable card and organic cotton which has been certified by The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Bask + Groove’s founder Monty Gammond explains, ‘Spending summers in Ibiza and travelling with my passion for yoga, I found a good hat was an absolute necessity for day-to-day living in sunny climates. I saw a gap in the market for beautifully designed, superb quality straw hats that work as well for men as for women.
