PRIVATE LUXURY: CAPTAIN'S VILLA ROUGE, LOSINJ ISLAND

Captain's Villa Rouge is a bit of a paradox.

With its bright, bold red exterior it was built to stand out but, situated in a private Mediterranean-style garden, it feels incredibly private and secluded from the moment you enter through its gates.

The villa’s stunning garden reflects the island’s medicinal vegetation with ancient cypress trees, pines, and palm trees with fragrant Mediterranean plants such as lavender, rosemary, and immortelle follow the paved path around the villa. The beautiful terrace is shaded by lemon, mandarin, and clementine trees, resulted in a fragrance scent throughout the air.

Designed by Viennese architect Friedrich Sigmund, Captain's Villa Rouge is an opulent nineteenth-century villa that has been lovingly restored to feature seven luxury suites and exceptional modern facilities.

Captain's Villa Rouge, part of the Ultra-Luxury Collection portfolio of Lošinj Hotels & Villas, sleeps up to fourteen guests and features seven suites over three floors. Each floor of the villa has its own separate entrances, fully equipped kitchen, dining and living rooms, making this the perfect place for a large group or a multi-generational family.  The villa can be rented out in its entirety, or by floor.

Each floor has its own, uniquely different custom-built Italian kitchen by Officine Gullo. The villa’s personality is on display in each kitchen, from the small and vibrancy of the orange kitchen on the first floor to a bold red, fully equipped kitchen on the second floor. The third floor is for entertaining in the bright yellow kitchen with a central island to gather around.

Captain’s Villa Rouge celebrates its nautical heritage, yet its spacious interiors are also vibrant, modern and luxurious.

Since its construction in 1897, owners have included ships’ captains and shipbuilders. The villa reflects this nautical prominence as Lošinj became a shipbuilding power in the 19th century. The luxury villa celebrates the island’s maritime history, and the interiors have been stylishly decorated with navigation and control devices, old nautical charts, ship lamps, and models of old sailing ships.

The chic décor throughout Captain's Villa Rouge is stunning.

Each of the bedrooms are decorated in varying shades of blue, to reflect the seafaring history of the villa. The bathrooms feature opulent onyx in varying shades from rich sea green to a deep midnight blue, reflecting the shades of the Adriatic Sea.

The opulent living areas of the villa feature impressive stonework, marble and wooden surfaces, vintage-patterned terrazzo floors, bespoke Murano glass chandeliers and lighting, and antique objects d’art.

For the ultimate in relaxation, Captain’s Villa Rouge also features a private spa with steam and sauna rooms, a seawater heated outdoor pool with sun beds and patio umbrellas, a jacuzzi, outdoor dining area with a barbecue and fitness zone with premium gym equipment. Expansive wraparound terraces surround the villa that offer stunning views over the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.

The villa sits within a private gated garden with 24-hour security video surveillance.

Villa guests also have access to 24-hour chef and an International Butler Academy certified butler service (on request).

Located on Čikat Bay, on Lošinj Island, the bright red luxury villa certainly stands out against the lush greenery of the surrounding pine forests and turquoise waters of the bay.

Čikat Bay is already an extremely tranquil and peaceful location. The serene gardens of Captain’s Villa Rouge only add to this and remove any prospect of any noise or distraction.
