Top Ten Luxury
The Goring

Of course the quintessentially British hotel would know how to serve the perfect quintessentially British pastime. Since the Goring family first opened their doors in 1910 luxury travellers and even members of the British Royal Family have been enjoying tea there (Queen Mary often came to tea; The Queen Mother came for cocktails).

TLTB has always loved afternoon tea at The Goring, but we also included it in this top ten as it was recently awarded ‘The 2013 Top London Afternoon Tea’ by the UK Tea Council’s Tea Guild Award.

To celebrate HM The Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th anniversary of her coronation The Goring have created a tribute worthy of their Royal Warrant with the Coronation Afternoon Tea served throughout the months of June and July. Expect a crown, a stylish hat, a Victoria Sponge, (to commemorate Queen Victoria, the only other Monarch to enjoy a Diamond Jubilee) and of course Coronation Chicken as one of the sandwich fillings.

Coronation Afternoon Tea is priced at £39.50, or £49.50 with a glass of Champagne Bollinger
