This hotel dips dangerously in Starck design territory with its channelling of neo-Baroque in as many shades of grey as you might see weathering one Paris day. It stops short of Philippe-style winks and settles comfortably for an intimate modern glamour. Try to forget your old school uniform colours when you witness the maroon bedspreads pared with grey wall and carpet and try to forgive yet another see-thru bathroom. Focus instead on the incredible waterfall of chandelier lighting or ask for a bed that marries faux fur with a pearlised petal-shaped bedhead.
