This chateau it has to be said is more of a medieval village than a castle with rooms and suites scattered around the ancient courtyards. This is where the princess would have escaped to once her knight in shining armour vanquished the dragon and she had to hide from her angry papa. The name means golden goat, based on local legends about the region. The suites are named after the many artists and writers who came to the hilltop village of Eze looking for inspiration -they surely found it. The two newest suites are the Luis Navarro Suite (Navarro was a friend of Picasso) and the Cocteau Suite, during one of his many visits Cocteau left a sketch in the hotels guest book.
