The problem with large pools is that they often come with large hotels attached. Such is the case with this monster pool on the Mexican Riviera. We suggest booking one of the Swim-Up suites with king sized beds, where, ironically, you get a private plunge pool so that you can have some personal space away from the throng. We also suggest booking room service so you don't have to eat in the more cavernous buffet restaurants or in the "specialty restaurants area". Shudder. Ok, so we have reservations about the hotel's guest numbers but we love the spa (pictured) with its white minimalist décor and sexy In-door /outdoor pools in which you can indulge in a range of water treatments. Now that is good use of water. The Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza are close by.
