25 Hours HafenCity draws from the area's rich maritime history in a radical re-imagining of a traditional seamen's club. The hotel's narrative is inspired by 25 personal chronicles collected by storyteller Markus Stoll and gathered in a 'ship logbook' in each of the 170 cabin-style suites. 

The ground floor recreates a rough world of a contemporary harbour using old import/export crates for the reception desk and includes Mare Kiosk Shop, Heimat restaurant with seating on stacks of oriental carpets, the 'Radio room' business center with computer stations housed in phone booth cabins and a conference room housed in a repurposed shipping container.
