Let’s imagine the sounds of the Bossa Nova in the background as we talk about this one. In the late 1940’s wealthy Brazilian, ‘Baby Pignatari’, built Tangará Ranch for his beautiful wife Nelita Alves de Lima and commissioned architect, Oscar Niemeyer and Roberto Burle Marx to landscape the gardens.  The ranch is no more but in the centre of these Sao Paulo gardens Oekler Collection is transforming a neo-classic style hotel into the latest pearl in their spectacular hotel necklace. (for another pearl see The Lanesborough).  Built in the surroundings of the Burle Marx Park the hotel will offer 141 spacious guestrooms ,including 55 suites. Interiors are by Brazilian designers William Simonato and Patricia Anastassiadis.  World renowned chef Jean Georges Vongerichten (we love his fleet of New York restaurants)  will dish up gourmet dining experiences and there will be a signature restaurant, chef’s table, a bar, a wine cellar, a lobby and lounge bar, all with outdoor terraces. The fitness centre and Sisley spa will have a private garden and there will be indoor and outdoor swimming pools as well as a kids’ club.
