Situated on Giudecca Island, La Residenza dates back to the 16th century, and was formerly the home of a number of Venetian noble families. In the early part of the 20th century, it became an upscale pensione, catering to an eclectic clientele of painters, writers and actors. In 2011 it was completely renovated, retaining original features, and divided into apartments, to create a residential villa with hotel services.
