Also known as the ‘Smithsonian of Country Music’, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum holds an unrivalled collection of country music artefacts, recording and images. In 2014 it underwent a $100-million renovation which doubled its size and opened dynamic state-of-the-art galleries, educational areas including the Taylor Swift Education Centres, new retail spaces and an interactive, hands-on immersion into contemporary country music (great for kids, young and old!) The standout feature of the museum is the Hall of Fame Rotunda. It was designed to recognise Hall of Fame members in a style befitting of the high honour of membership and everyone recognized here is an equal. The members' plaques are placed randomly around the room and the room is round to ensure that every Hall of Fame member has a place of equal importance. Country Music Hall of Fame members include Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and the Carter Family.
