2011 will mark a decade since 60 Thompson Street opened its doors in downtown SoHo. All the more remarkable that it still registers with New York's fashion set. The 100 rooms remain comfortably cool in their light neutral palettes and chocolate marble bathrooms. Kittichai, the hotel's much-lauded restaurant turns out some of the city's best Thai in its cocoon of warm wood and saffron curtains. The Thom Bar remains a hot seduction zone, while A60 - with some of NYC's best rooftop views - still has enough hip factor to operate as a guest and members-only bar. A mood-board of style for the ten new hotels that the Thompson Hotel group has since spawned, 60 Thompson Street shows how getting it right first-time does pay off.
