At qualia on Hamilton Island, in the heart
of the Great Barrier Reef, you barely have to lift a manicured finger or a
painted toe. As well as concierge services on tap, guests arechauffeured to the resort on arrival
and enjoy the use of two-seater buggy to get around the island. Once here
though, you'll never want to leave the designer lounge. All 60 architect
designed timber and stone pavilions are tucked under shady eucalypts on the island's
northern most tip enjoying panoramas of a tie-dyed Coral Sea and neighbouring
Whitsunday Islands. For those whose conscience gets the better of them, qualia
does offer a range of active experiences from beach drop offs, sunset cruising,
kayaking and bushwalking. If you don't want to go that far the resort also has
a day spa, yoga and a gym - exclusive to guests- decked out with four
treadmills, three cross trainers and resistence machines (plus if you need a
little more motivation, a personal trainer or two). Best of all, you can still
keep an eye out for whales in the winter sunshine.... because the gym also enjoys
the same spectacular water views.
