The secret is out...
Yesterday the world got its first look at Royal Caribbean's new luxury cruise ship, Quantum of the Seas. After the big reveal the audience said 'wow' and The Luxury Travel Bible is very impressed with all that the ship has to offer.
Royal Caribbean promised that their latest ship would have innovations "never-seen-at-sea" before on a cruise ship, and they have certainly delivered! |
Sky-diving
and bumper cars, a music hall, Seaplex (the largest indoor active space at sea) and the 'Two70' bar which at night turns the windows into special projections to form part of live circus-style,
shows are just some of the unique features aboard the new ship.
One of the stand-out features is a 'North Star', which gives passengers 360-degree views from 300 feet above the ocean.
This very cool feature is a Royal Caribbean and luxury cruise first. Leo might have claimed he was 'King of the World', but North Star's observation pod, similar to those of the London Eye, will ensure that everyone is on top of the world.
All cabins aboard the ship will feature a stunning view, as they will feature Virtual Balcony views (a cruise industry first) allow all rooms to have sea views but the luxury loft suites are what really have TLTB's pulse racing with spacious living areas and (real) views from the balcony. |
Quantum of the Seas has not ignored the staples of any cruise ship with fine dining, luxury shopping, Broadway-style entertainment and appearances from Dreamworks characters
such as Shrek for the Little Luxies.
The luxury ship's godmother is Broadway and Television star Kristen Chenoweth was chosen as she embodies the spirit of the ship. According to Royal Caribbean with her 'bubbly bright spirit and enthusiasm about everything that she does, she really just personalised what we think the ship stands for and we think she will be a great ambassador and godmother' ... sounds like a perfect partnership!
Think all these innovations sound good? Royal Caribbean are promising that there are more to be unveiled - TLTB can't wait!

Quantum of the Seas is scheduled to make her debut in the autumn of 2014 and will sail out of New York City. Her sister ship, to be named Anthem of the Seas will follow in 2015.
