Chalet Spa Verbier, in the heart of this elite ski resort, is a slate-roofed timber chalet which features five bedrooms and is only a short walk from the Savoleyres lift via a private path (we hate carrying our skis very far). Three of the four floors are surrounded terraces with views of the Alps.

The Luxury Travel Bible loves the contemporary take on the Alpine chalet concept and those shag-adelic cushions in the main living area, as white and shaggy as a mountain goat. The chalet was designed by Cittolin Polli to blend perfectly with the traditional mountain architecture of the Valais canton. The materials are traditional; timber, leather, stone and granite. Yet the interior design is still resolutely modern. Works of art, (paintings, sculptures drawings) by Swiss and international artists decorate the chalet. Those who rent this property can also expect the services of a chef, a concierge and professional spa therapists.

The people that created Chalet Spa Verier also run the equally divine Chalet Spa Blanche in the same ski resort, too, so you are spoilt for choice.

The good news is that the Chalet Spa concept isn't just restricted to the snow; you can 'Spa' at beach locations too. There are also Chalet Spa villas in those two euro-glitz islands; Ibiza and Mallorca. The Ibiza property is on Tagomago Island off the coast of Ibiza, one of the few private islands in Spain and about 30 minutes by boat from the beaches of Formentera. In Majorca the ginger-walled Castell de Manresa private estate is in bay of Pollensa in the north of the island.
