Palazzo Versace, Dubai, UAE |
Now we know there are rumours of much trouble in paradise and this one has been a lon-n-ng time actually getting past building site stage but after a decade of decadence the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast (which turned ten last year) can no longer lay claim to the title of 'Word's Only Versace Hotel' because Palazzo Versace Dubai will be ready to open its designer doors by mid-2011 (no really it will be, well, maybe, OK we'll see).
The 130,000 square metre Dubai resort promises to provide 169 private residences and 213 rooms. Like Palazzo Versace Gold Coast the development will also offer a Vanitas fine dining room. There will also be a day spa, ballroom and convention facilities, and the "largest Versace boutique in the Middle East." Whether the hotel really will end up having the world first refrigerated beach, designed to keep guests feet cool and stop them burning their pinkies on the hot sand remains to be seen. Rumours of a complicated system of heat-absorbing pipes built under the sand and giant wind blowers, are still circulating. Soheil Abedian, president of Palazzo Versace, said: 'We will suck the heat out of the sand to keep it cool enough to lie on. This is the kind of luxury that top people want.' In partnership with Sunland Group, Versace had planned to open a whole 22-carat gold chain of luxury hotels with an exclusive rollout of 15 Palazzo Versace hotels and resorts worldwide over the next 30 years. Watch this space. Luxury Loves
The sheer anticipation.
