It is not all about the new. We love to celebrate the birthday of a Grand Dame too. This historic hotel celebrates its 100th birthday in style this year and we want to be there to lift a glass in its honour. Cannes has a clutch bag of famous luxurious hotels (although 'faded glamour' could truthfully describe some of them) but the Carlton is our current favourite. When we win the film festival's Best Actress Award, we'll be staying here. The hotel has a number of suites named after the rich and famous but TLTB particularly loves the Grace Kelly Suite decked out with photographs  of the actor--turned- royalty before and after her marriage,  donated by her son Prince Albert when he visited the hotel.
