We love Crosby Street so we’re thrilled luxury boutique group Firmdale Hotels will open its second New York property in February. The Whitby hotel is located on West 56th Street at Fifth Avenue, three blocks south of Central Park. The new-build will be architecturally similar to existing Manhattan property, Crosby Street, with have 86 rooms and suites across 16 floors. They will have floor-to-ceiling windows and free wifi, with 14 also featuring private terraces. Firmdale Hotels Owner and Design Director Kit Kemp  will produce the interiors in her usual quirky but contemporary style:  vibrant mix of colour, pattern, texture and art. Each guestroom will feature its own individual colour scheme, while bathrooms will be finished in marble or granite. TLTB readers will want to book into the two-bedroom Whitby Suite, which takes over the entire top floor with terraces facing both uptown and downtown.  The he property will also have an outdoor terrace, orangery, library, gym, event space and a 130-seat cinema (as with some other Firmdale properties).
