The recently opened Aspara River Droite is a luxury mansion from the man who brought us the trendy Aspara guest house in the heart of Luang Prabang. The European owners call Aspara and its happening bar and restaurant, "Funky, Fun and Affordable". They are calling this new luxe villa on the river's edge, "Glam, Gorgeous and Groovy ". Ignoring their obsession with alliteration for a moment it is clear that the latter is more nous. Somewhere 'glam' is definitely more The Luxury Travel Bible 's kinda place. Opened in December 2009 on the right bank of the Nam Khan River you'll find Aspara River Droite down a flower filled lane. The villa has nine, huge and we have to agree, 'glamorous' bedrooms, all with their own verandah or terrace. You reach the town centre by private boats (we like) or if the water is too low, via a private bamboo bridge. So to quote the Aspara website: "You can spend the morning exploring and the afternoon in luxurious idleness by the pool". Again, luxurious idleness resonates well with us. You?
