When Hamlet ordered "get thee to a nunnery", we doubt he imagined the supreme luxury of La Locanda Delle Donne Monache at Maratea on the Southern Italian coast. The luxuriously restored 18th century nunnery has retained many of its original features enhancing them with touches of modern luxury like the Murano glass sculptures scattered throughout the property or the bathtub in the La Vicaria suite that is carved out of rock.
We think the Visitandine nuns who originally inhabited this holy place would have been quite proud of the luxurious sanctuary their former home has become.
