Hotel Le Bristol, Paris
The hotel is the unsung star of Woody Allen's just-released movie, Midnight in Paris, but that is just the latest in a long line of things that makes this hotel special; including of course the fact that it is one of only eight hotels to warrant the official title of 'Palace' bestowed in May by the French Government on the crème de la crème of French hotels.

The movie, a romantic comedy starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen was shot on location last summer. Some of its more glamorous scenes were filmed at Le Bristol, including shots of the hotel's ultra-luxurious Panoramic Suite,  its elegant lobby and the hotel's famous entrance. Didier Le Calvez, General Manager of Le Bristol, said:"We were thrilled to assist Woody Allen, the cast and crew during the making of Midnight in Paris last summer... and are delighted that Le Bristol features alongside such a distinguished cast."

Hotel Le Bristol Paris is a The Luxury Travel Bible favourite not least because it is the only European family-owned palace and has belonged to only two families since it first opened in 1925. The more discerning of the world's rich and famous consider the Hotel Le Bristol (a member of Leading Hotels of the World) their own special secret address because checking in here is like staying in a grand private home.

There are plenty of palatial things about Le Bristol including its top 3-star restaurant presided over by Chef Eric Frechon which has been redecorated under the supervision of owner Mrs Oetker and Pierre Yves Rochon and officially ore-opens in July  2011.

In 2009, Le Bristol launched a large-scale renovation programme at a cost of more than 100 million euros. The total renovation of 45 rooms and suites has just been completed and we can report that the hotel is looking more luxurious than ever with more to come as two Signature suites will be unveiled in June 2011: the Honeymoon suite, occupying the entire top floor of the hotel, with a superb panoramic view over Paris, and the Imperial suite of 300 square metres. By this July the new spa will also be ready. How can we stand so much new and improved opulence? Easily as it happens.

Le Bristol has been part of the 'Oetker Collection' since 1978, with the Brenner's Park in Baden Baden, the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, and the Château Saint Martin & Spa.
