Cheval Blanc Hotel,Courchevel
As label aficionados will already know, Cheval Blanc is owned by Bernard Arnault, LVMH chairman, so it is no surprise that the hotel at Courchevel 1850 is a firm favourite with the fashion set; Tom Ford, Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney have all stayed here.

Throughout the 34 rooms of the hotel you'll find photography and ′object d′art′ commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld and, naturally, complimentary LVMH products are everywhere. The rooms pay subtle homage to the Savoyard style of the hotel's origins - but in a good way.  Balconies have spectacular views of the slopes and there is of course ski-in, ski-out access to the Jardin Alpin ski area.

After a hard day's skiing you can sink into a deep bathtub with your favourite movie playing on the bathroom′s in-wall plasma screen. The Luxury Travel Bible readers will love the hotel′s suites with private hammams. The Givenchy Spa has a gym, swimming pool, sauna, massage and beauty treatment rooms, hammam, Jacuzzi and hair salon.

Yannick Alleno three Michélin starred chef (who also transformed another Palace hotel restaurant at Le Meurice) has brought his gastronomic expertise to Le 1947 Restaurant which now has a Michelin accolade of its own.

Wine lovers will know that the hotel takes its name from the Château Cheval Blanc’s 1947 vintage and thus has a satisfyingly extensive wine menu.
