CERVO Mountain Boutique Resort is nestled on the slopes above Zermatt, Switzerland's most iconic alpine resort. According to Daniel Ferdinand Lauber, one of the young visionaries behind the hotel, the architectural focus here is on warmth and comfort. Instead of seeing tracts of synthetic materials, guests are greeted by luxurious timber supports and solid stone partitions. The link with hunting runs right through this mountain retreats central design concept. The curved, stylized antlers of a deer appear sporadically throughout the building (the word Cervo is Italian for deer) and calming local materials like felt and loden give subtle nods to the regions rich history of hunting.
