The just-opened Kerry hotel is another new kid on the block. Except that this block is a fair way from downtown in the furthest reaches of Pudong. However this is where the new conference centre is and where all the expat types are moving into gated villas close to the international schools, so there is more going on here than meets the eye. It is also close by the planned Disneyland 7 esort , due to open 2014. In fact Disney execs are using the Kerry as a home from home for the duration.  Kerry is Shangri-La's little sister, the first of a new luxury hotel brand for the Shangri-La group, described by one Shanghai magazine as Pippa to Shangri-La's Kate. For a large hotel the design is decidedly hip, especially in the common areas, and there's all the entertainment you need right here in the hotel . The beer cellar, called simply BREW, has already won awards for its brew, the food hall (COOK) serves a great mix of food choices (including some of the best dumplings TLTB tasted in Shanghai) and the steakhouse (MEET) already has its imitators.
