CABN X at Cape St Albans is now officially open. Located on Kangaroo Island, the five luxury off-grid eco-cabins are situation across 400-acres of private land. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, each CABN X property is positioned in privacy. Guests can retreat in the comfort of nature, the surrounding seascape and protected wildlife. The luxury cabins feature indoor private sauna, indoor and outdoor full-size baths and king-sized beds. Each of the cabins offers stunning panoramic oceans views of the Southern Ocean looking back towards the South Australian mainland. Distanced from urban light pollution and visitors can stargaze from the cabin’s deck or bedroom’s glass ceiling. Handpicked breakfast provisions are included, and for those looking to truly spoil themselves, an in-room dining experience complete with a private chef to prepare and serve a 7-course degustation menu can be arranged.
As well as getting away from everything, guests can enjoy various activities during their stay, including walks on the private beach, wildlife spotting, exploring the remnants of the Kona shipwreck and visiting the operational lighthouse on the property.

Alongside its luxury experiences, CABN X is also highly sustainable. The properties are powered by 100% solar energy and were prefabricated off site to minimise disruption to the environment. Careful revegetation, following transportation of the cabins to Cape St Albans, further cements CABN’s commitment to sustainable tourism and protecting the site’s nature and wildlife.
'It is a privilege to invite guests to immerse themselves in a region as special as St Cape Albans. Our cabins encourage disconnection from everyday life, to tune into nature all while enjoying ultimate comfort and luxury', said CABN CEO & Founder, Michael Lamprell. |
CABN’s commitment to partnering with First Nations peoples continues at Cape St Albans. Before opening, the site was blessed by Ngarrindjeri women, their ceremony highlighting the history and cultural significance of Kangaroo Island and Cape St Albans. Expanding this history to Cape St Albans guests, CABN is working with Kool Tours and Intrepid Travel and their Indigenous experience offerings.
'My family and I were delighted to be invited by CABN to bless Cape St Albans, the first tourism operator on Kangaroo Island to do so', said Ngarrindjeri Elder, Mark Koolmatrie. 'Kangaroo Island is a very sacred place, and it was essential for Ngarrindjeri women to bless the site given the history of the island. We look forward to working with CABN to share the history, creation stories and Indigenous interpretation of all the wonderful experiences Cape St Albans has to offer.'
