OPENING: December 2019 Opening its doors next month for the winter 2019/20 ski season, Hôtel MiL8 is a brand-new, chic alpine hotel located in the French ski resort of Avoriaz. Hôtel MiL8 is named after the altitude of Avoriaz. An Altitude of t 1,800m makes Avoriaz the highest and most snow-sure village in the famed Portes du Soleil area.
The new luxury hotel features 42 spacious rooms and suites and two restaurants including one at piste level for lunchtime skiers, while the ground floor space is perfect location for more intimate dining. The authentic and inventive menus promise to blend healthy eating with responsible local sourcing. The bar will serve hot chocolate, blends of coffee and fine teas to keep guests warm as well as a range of cocktails, vintage wines and sharing snacks include tempura, cheese platters and classic Panisse. After a long day on the slopes guest can relax in front of the central open fireplace in the cosy lobby by curling up with a book or enjoying an aperitif.The hotel’s wellness centre is set to be something special. Set over four levels, the glass-fronted centre will allow guests to take in the stunning views over the beautiful resort and includes an infinity pool, sauna, gym and massage room. Hôtel MiL8 partners with organic skincare brand SNÖ eternelle, created by Olympic Silver medallist skier Raphaëlle Monod, based on Nordic organic and active ingredients. Hôtel Mil8 has been designed by local architect Hervé Marullaz who has created a unique butterfly-shaped structure that is in keeping with the surrounding area. The hotel’s silver-grey larch façade blends with the traditional wooden tiles that characterise the facades and roofs of Avoriaz. The hotel’s spacious balconies allow guests stunning, panoramic views over the snow-topped roofs and peaks of this charming village resort. Hôtel MiL8 stylish interiors have a contemporary feel with shimmering fabrics and ultra-modern furnishings. Parisian interior designers Catherine and Jérôme Clermont from Atelier Obermant have mirrored the hotel’s unique architecture, which plays on the contrast between curves and right angles and the combination of materials such as warm wood, leather and wool and raw, urban concrete and steel.Little Luxies will be warmly welcomed as Hôtel MiL8 offers a play area which includes a mini climbing wall, as well as seasonal, healthy and appealing menus. For babies, the hotel provides cots, baby baths, thermometers, bottle warmers, changing mats and mountain strollers on request. Babysitting can be arranged with a supplementary charge. While the hotel will suit luxury traveller’s Après ski needs, Hôtel MiL8 has partners with ESF ski school to organise ski lessons and ski hire for guests.
