We’ve been anticipating this one for a couple of years now ever since we first started chatting about it at ILTM Africa . Built in an historic grain silo complex above the  soon-to-be Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa -MOCAA – (think Tate Modern London, or MoMA New York).  The Silo is set to be the hippest new hotel on the V & A waterfront in Cape Town. The designs for the 28 rooms and suites are amazing with use of glass and metal that redefines industrial chic and art from the owner’s private collection. The building has been designed by Thomas Heatherwick, Founder and Principal of the London-based Heatherwick Studio, the rooms are individually styled by colourist Liz Biden. And did we mention the rooftop champagne bar? The hotel is brought to us from the stylish Royal Portfolio which runs one of our all-time favourite safari lodges – we expect nothing but class from this new hotel.
