The hotel describes itself as “Nostalgic Surfer chic meets Miami catwalk cool”. Blow up black and white shots of Fifties Bathing Belles in the lifts and modernist inspired colour all adds to the vibe. While the Baja California cool of Stingray Lounge has made it a favourite hangout of Gold Coast’s ‘it’ crowd. Lolly-colours in the lobby and a pool with moulded loungers complete the feel.  Staff uniforms are made for the rat pack, especially the mail 50s style golf Shirts.. or are they going to the bowling alley? Love it. QT’s other properties such as Sydney, Bondi and Canberra all have the party gene but none channels the ‘50s and early ‘60s like the Gold Coast. QT Melbourne opens in September (2016).
