The Luxury Travel Bible was one of the first though the doors of the just-opened Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. Housed in one of the Bund's most beautiful, and oldest, historic buildings this was once the 1911 Shanghai Club. Waldorf have done a stellar job of combining old and new without compromising either.  Oysters and champagne in the old wood-panelled club Long Bar are a must ,so is dinner in a private room at the beautiful Wei Jing Ge restaurant. Tempting to stay in one of the heritage rooms in the Club in the old building but the sheer glamour and opulence of the rooms in the new Waldorf Astoria Tower wins out.
