If ever a hotel was created with passion this one is this family owned boutique hotel has been lovingly nurtured by Andrés Soldevila Ferrer. TLTB met up with Ferrer recently and he   seems to know every crack in the plaster and ever stage in the restoration, better than he knows the back of his own hand.   
The hotel has been created out of a former manor house in the heart of the historic old town of Palma. It once belonged to that belonged to a noble Mallorquin family and is now in the hands of a hotel dynasty with an equally fine pedigree. The Soldevila Ferrer family have been hoteliers for generations, (since part-founding the Hotel Majestic in Barcelona in 1918).and this boutique offering, already a member of Small Luxury hotels, is a new chapter. Andres has been at the helm of the project but his mother Nuria Ferrer Klein, a former interior designer, has added her distinct mark to the hotel too ( she has curated an impressive contemporary art collection for the interiors) and one has the feeling that the senior Andrés Soldevila Casals is keeping a hoteliers’ eye on proceedings and purse too. 
Behind the beautiful façade is a treasure trove of unique rooms overlooking terraces, courtyards olive trees and fountains.  The 42 rooms and suites are an eclectic mix of antiques and contemporary design. Everywhere you turn there is something of interest: The courtyard was originally used to saddle-up the horses, witness the perfectly restored hitching posts and the Rooftop Terrace offers a bird’s-eye view of the city and overlooks the Church of Sant Francesc and the Cathedral.
Guest amenities are from English perfumer Heeley and the hotel’s signature scent is Figuier, “reminiscent of sitting under the shade of a fig tree in the Mediterranean sun”. We like.
