The Profile: An architect and designer India Mahdavi is based in Paris, where she created the imh design firm in 1999. Her projects have spanned everything from
luxury hotels to furniture and object d'art. She also designs private houses for those rich enough to afford her skills and has done so everywhere from the Egyptian desert (Siwa) to Sydney. |

The Style: Mahdavi uses her imagination when designing. Her designs are elegant and fluid. Each work tells a story about its location and therefore the space takes on its own identity. For example,the CONDESAdf hotel in Mexico City fuses the bohemian style with its historic surroundings creating a playful environment for guests. The hotel incorporates custom made furniture really allowing one to appreciate the original neoclassical French style of the building. The interiors of the hotel rooms have 'a retro style' through the material palette of moss green, chocolate and cream tones. Mahdavi has charmingly carried her fluid modernity style throughout the classic CONDESAdf hotel. |
