Six Senses CEO, Bernhard Bohnenberger (known to all as BB) was especially excited about this new project when we met up with him late last year, and no wonder. He’s been working on making this dream a reality for some time. The company will be opening a series of small lodges across Bhutan - located in Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey and Bumthang - each with their own unique feel .Watch out Aman and COMO. If only because Six Senses really is determined that each lodge with have an authentic (and different) spirit of place. Expect to find infinity pools rising above verdant paddy-fields, wooded groves and spectacular views. Especially at the lodge in Punakha which is located overlooking the Mo Chu River and in Gangtey which has sweeping views over the Phobjika Valley. This one is at the very top of our Must-See list.
Also on the radar: Six Senses Wuma located in the Jhih-ben hot spring area of Taitung in southeastern Taiwan, designed by leading Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, also opening in 2016.
