The Group: The Original Fairmont was opening in San Francisco in 1907. It was later bought by Benjamin Swig in 1945. The Fairmont Chain merged with Canadian Pacific hotels and resorts in 1999. In early January 2006 Fairmont Chain was sold and as a result became part of the Fairmont Raffles Hotels International.

The high level and quality of service which is offered makes Fairmont one of the leaders in the hotel industry. Many of the Fairmont Resorts are located in beautiful pristine locations with breath taking views.
